Please take me off of this mailing list.

As a professional, I refuse to argue about possible opportunities.  I have too much paying work to sit around and ponder the possiblility of something being a scam or not.

For the record, I checked into LS Services, Inc online through the State of New York. The business address is different than the one on the NDA (typical), as is the name.  They just got their license a couple of days ago.

When working with large corporations, an NDA is typical.  I was a sub-contractor for Hewlett Packard for over a year and had to sign one; I am now a sub-contractor with several small mystery shopping companies and every single one has me sign an NDA as part of my Independent Contractor agreement.

An NDA is NOT an employment contract.  It is simply an agreement that you will not take the confidential information you receive as part of your work and sell it to the competition.  When I subbed for HP, I had Epson and Canon reps asking me about confidential details of my training and how HP operates.

As far as I know, details about payment and other things are suppossed to occur during this conference call.  I have yet to decide if I am going to sit in or not.

Scams are part and parcel of the freelance writing life.  I've gotten ripped off plenty of times.  But the choice to say yes or no to a sketchy job is always mine.

Brian,

On behalf of the group, I thank you. As long as we consent to being
treated as desperate, starving writers who will sign anything and work
through the night, no matter if the pay works out to less than minimum
wage (if there is any pay to be had at all), those who ultimately
depend on our content will continue to treat us that way.
