In this two person survey show, two artists from both sides of the Atlantic examine the influence of toons, figuration, pop, design, and grafitti hubris on both their creative agendas and artistic visions.
The selected group of works operate on the level of portraiture and figuration in a two dimensional space. The works share certain affinities with the work of the CoBrA Artists (of Copenhagen, Brussels, Amsterdam), sort of DaDa-Pop.
Rotterdam based artist Stefan Tijs' New York debut includes various prints, drawings, and recent paintings.
New York based artist Fred Villanueva selects prints, watercolors, drawings and paintings from a period spanning 14 years.
Sacramento based artist Kepi Ghoulie makes a special appearance and displays art on Monday, June 23rd from 6-10pm.
The opening also coincides with the launch of the online project space, PopArtSale.com. Through PopArtSale.com, the P.A.S. Project Space introduces and makes available artworks to other galleries, art dealers, curators, museums, and collectors, giving the ability to browse and even purchase selected works.
P.A.S. Project Space is a New York City based Fine Art Project Space located between Wall Street and Battery Park City near Tribeca. The mission of the project space is to show cutting edge fine art paintings, drawings, prints, mixed-media works, and installations.
