How about June 5? Since this is a new client, we really need to get this story right...

Stacy-
When is the deadline for this? Amy Spatrisano is out of the country this week but her assistant says she should be able to do a quick interview after this weekend, and I'm still waiting to hear back from the other two keynotes. I've also contacted some of the event's other speakers as a backup. Let me know when you get a chance.
Thanks,
Barrett

Hi, Stacy-
Just sent some e-mails to those keynotes as well as the Green Summit press coordinator; I'll get a revised version to you after I hear back from them.
Thanks,
Barrett

Got it Barrett. Glad to be doing business with you...
First thing... writing with humor is difficult, and I know how it is to stick your neck out there with it. I really like your style and think you're a good match for this e-zine.
I think you have a good start here, but it's a little light for an industry reader. We need more specific examples and meatier info. The event in SF is an important one, and I think you should be able to get the keynotes on the line to do a quick interview: http://www.greeneventsummit.com/keynotes/ (And they can discuss whether the govt' mandate is truly something for dealers to be wary of)
Specific questions that came to mind that these three could address:
How do you market your company as "green" when the whole world is supposedly "green," when is the most effective way to get that message across?
One or two examples of companies that chose to "go green" and reaped financial rewards out of it (looks like Amy Spatrisano or Joshua Mark could speak to this)
Examples of how NOT to do it. (Bad messaging, choices that seem green but are actually bad for the environment)
If you want to give me a call to discuss, you can reach me on my home number: 214-592-0452. (My cell phone is busted... I'm so important I haven't replaced it in a week)

Stacy-
Howdy, I'm Barrett Brown, Karen Lancaster's prodigal son. You sent me an assignment via her last week; I've attached it in Word. Take a look and let me know if/what changes need to be made, and I can get any revisions back to you ASAP.45
Also, it looks like you wanted a couple of links to photos that you can use with the story; here are some pretty ones that are available for public use:
