Your dad deposited $225.00, which you told me about last week. You have spent twice that on food and entertainment since then. If you don't know how to check your bank balance online, I suggest you learn today. Just two weeks ago you wrote a check for $1000 then spent several hundred additional and acted surprisd when you were overdrawn? Do you think the bank fairy just comes by and covers your ass on a daily basis? You're 26 and that's going to stop sometime soon -- for your sake as much as anything. You lost your job in January and didn't get around to looking for another one until, when, maybe a month ago? How much time have you spent playing video games vs. looking for work? I don't want you to be (and I don't think you want to be) the kind of guy who at 30 is still sitting around in his underwear, getting drunk and playing video games all day while his mommy keeps track of his bank balance.
I repeat, go online and learn how to check your daily balance. It's time for you to grow up and start taking responsibility for some basic things in your life.
As you can tell, I'm very frustrated with your behavior.
Love, Mom

Mom, listen. I stopped at an ATM machine last night and it allowed me to withdraw money, which it doesn't allow me to do when there's no money in there. I just assumed that dad had done what he said he would do, which is deposit money for me to cover my rent and whatnot. There's no reason to turn a reasonable mistake into a giant indictment of yours truly.

Not true. You've only had a $1.08 balance since Monday. I've been watching the account and thought perhaps you had a check coming in to deposit.
Do you know how to check your balance online? If not, go to www.chase.com and set up entering your account number with a password, etc. that you can access in order to stay on top of things.
Today is May 1st, how are you planning to pay your rent?
Geez, I'd hoped you would start taking more responsibility for yourself by now. At the very least, in planning and anticipating your needs.

It said I had money in my account.

Why are you overdrawing your account when you know damn well you don't have the money in there to withdraw?
I just put a deposit in there to cover you, but It's a little irritating to have to do that twice over a two week period to cover you. You need to plan ahead, figure this thing out.
Is Dad going to make a deposit for you?
