William F. Buckley Jr. - often cited as the dean of modern American conservatism - is dead, or, at the very least, has gone underground with a new identity in order that he may better serve the CIA in its ongoing pursuit of regime change in Mexico.

Look for Gore Vidal to say something nasty about his old sparring partner, just as he did when Truman Capote died; a clip of one of their most notoriously WASP-y conflicts may be found here.

Here, though, is Buckley at his best - wagging his fingers, engaging in archaic hand motions, and dismissing valid arguments during a Vietnam-era debate with Noam Chomsky.

Good night, sweet prince!
