Howdy-

My name is Barrett Brown, and I've been asked by Austin Monthly to do a 400-word write-up on The Alice Rose for the magazine's March issue. I was hoping to get a few quotes from one of the band members, and Brendan said you'd be the one to contact. The piece is due on the 10th, so if you could get back to me in the next couple of days, I'd appreciate it.

1. A reviewer for the Statesman wrote that "this is what Squeeze would sound like if a young Syd Barrett were a collaborator." Assuming you agree, do you think there's any particular member who evokes Barrett most, or is any audio resemblance simply the result of your collective styles?

2 Aside from being based in Austin, does Alice Rose strike you as a particularly "Austin-y" band (assuming you believe that any such thing exists)?

3. Would the NPR song of the day thing qualify as your first big break, or did you get any similarly prominent press before that?

4. How do you see things proceeding in 2008?

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Barrett Brown
