Leadership Symphony Style
Since its founding in 1913, the Houston Symphony Orchestra has managed to establish itself as one of the nation's most highly revered performing arts institutions, routinely charming audiences with presentations of everything from the lesser-known works of Tchaikovsky and Schubert to such more grin-inducing concerts as Gridiron Glory: The Sights and Sounds of the NFL.
This year's YPO music presentation will provide members with a rare opportunity to get closer to the action as veteran international conductor Roger Nierenberg presides over his acclaimed Music Paradigm program, a comprehensive team building event that's received praise from The New York Times, Fast Company, and Washington Business Journal, among others. Each YPO attendee will be sat down next to a particular member of the symphony ensemble; as he proceeds with the direction of his orchestra, the accomplished maestro will illustrate both by word and example the universal attributes of keen leadership and functional teamwork. Contrarily, he'll also provide an audible examination of how such things can break down what can be done to prevent it.
Happily, our rather unique instructional exercise will be followed by dinner at the symphony hall.
