OK guys, here's the list of everything we're looking to cover for the Guide To Sixth Street article, including a bunch of "off the grid" places on Red River and elsewhere. Since I'm the boss, I gave myself most of the big music clubs, but there are still plenty of other places to go around. Get back to me and let me know which ones you'd like to cover.
Since space is definitely an issue, we're going to have to really watch our word counts on these. So keep them short and punchy (no longer than 100 words) and remember that brevity is the soul of wit...Here's the format:
Jackalope
(404 E. Sixth St., 472-3663)
This grungy den of iniquity plays up its psychobilly image with red walls, pictures torn from girlie magazines, and signature drinks like the Helldorado, a fruity drink served in a giant glass with enough straws to convince several women of questionable morals to go down on more than just the hefty $9 price. One of the few patios left on the strip herds tough-guy smokers and theirÊBettie Page-worshipping girlfriends to the bar out back, and the kitchen serves surprisingly decent pub-grub until 1 a.m.
Let me know if you have any questions. Again, I need all of these no later than August 17.
