I'm currently seeking representation
for my second political humor book, Not Peace, But a Sword: Why
Evangelicals are Not Only Bad for America But Also Somewhat
Irritating on a Personal Basis, and I understand that although Chelsea Green is focused on issues relating to sustainability, you've also had quite a bit of success with other books like
Don't Think of an Elephant, so I thought I'd get in touch with you first.
I'm a freelance writer
based in Austin, and my work has appeared in dozens of publications
including National Lampoon, Jest,
The Onion A/V Club, AlterNet, and Toward Freedom. My first book, Flock of Dodos: Behind
Modern Creationism, Intelligent Design, and the Easter Bunny, was
brought out in March by a small New York publisher by the name of Sterling &
Ross, and has so far received praise from Alan Dershowitz, Rolling
Stone associate editor Matt Taibbi, Air America Radio
host Cenk Uyger, The Huffington Post blogger
Bob Cesca, as well as from a few other assorted newspapers,
magazines, local television network affiliates, radio stations, and
blogs. Nonetheless, I'd like to move on to a different publishing house
for the second book.
At this point, I have two sample chapters totaling 25,000 words as well as a ten-page proposal. Please let me know if you'd be interested in seeing any of these materials.
Regards,
Barrett Brown
